For Facebook sharers, we are also now passing a nice Magic Thumbnail across to your Facebook Profile along with useful metadata from Magic about the item.

So its now just a single click to share any Magic resource you like the look of via a Tweet or into Digg and Delicious.

Magic Studio launches the Content Exchange http://blog.magicstudio.com/2009/09/28/magic-studio-launches-the-content-exchange/ http://blog.magicstudio.com/2009/09/28/magic-studio-launches-the-content-exchange/#comments Mon, 28 Sep 2009 13:18:43 +0000 markfarnell http://blog.magicstudio.com/?p=342 Exciting news for us today as our Content Exchange goes live!  Sitting alongside the free content, the Content Exchange also provides our users with a “pay for use” model, allowing you to take advantage of the increasing number of new commercial content providers in the Magic Studio Network.

How does it work?  Just use a credit card to create a Magic Studio account with a minimum payment of £2 – your account will immediately be credited with Magic Studio Credits to the value of 10p each, so £2 will buy you 20 Magic Studio Credits.  These credits can then be used to buy commercially available content from publishers in our network, allowing you to decide how much or how little you buy based on your own needs.

There are already over 337,000 items available in the Content Exchange and we’ll be adding more over the coming weeks.

Magic Studio now with Common Cartridge support plus … http://blog.magicstudio.com/2009/05/22/magic-studio-now-with-common-cartridge-support-plus/ http://blog.magicstudio.com/2009/05/22/magic-studio-now-with-common-cartridge-support-plus/#comments Fri, 22 May 2009 09:56:26 +0000 martynfarrows http://blog.magicstudio.com/?p=268 We have made a number of new enhancements to Magic Studio this week:

  • As well as being able to export completed interactives as SCORM packages, you can now also export as Common Cartridge packages
  • SCORM packages can now be uploaded and shared
  • Larger sizes for videos are now supported, up to 500 pixels wide – this means that videos uploaded can be used in their native size and are resized automatically for use where appropriate in interactives (e.g. when projected onto IWBs)
  • For Gateway users, we have introduced a new home page and user interface

In addition, video and audio players now show a new ‘progress’ bar.

Multiple Labels in Drag ‘n’ Drop http://blog.magicstudio.com/2009/05/14/multiple-labels-in-drag-n-drop/ http://blog.magicstudio.com/2009/05/14/multiple-labels-in-drag-n-drop/#comments Thu, 14 May 2009 07:52:54 +0000 markfarnell http://blog.magicstudio.com/?p=255 As mentioned in an earlier blog, users in Magic Studio can now add multiple labels to single hotspots.  This is particularly useful where the drag and drop uses the “same answer” for a series of different questions.  In this example, there are a number of different ways to get to the answers 2, 4, 6 and 8:

This interactive requires Macromedia Flash Player 8 or above.

Using Audio Response in Drag ‘n’ Drop http://blog.magicstudio.com/2009/05/13/using-audio-response-in-drag-n-drop/ http://blog.magicstudio.com/2009/05/13/using-audio-response-in-drag-n-drop/#comments Wed, 13 May 2009 14:47:22 +0000 markfarnell http://blog.magicstudio.com/?p=248 You can now add audio responses to drag ‘n’ drop feedback – all you need is an audio file of the response you want to use. Any .mp3 you have the rights to use can be added, and your own recordings can be made with Audacity (free, open source, sound recorder and editor) before uploading them to Magic Studio. Here’s an example – when you get the label on the right colour, you can also hear, as well as see, feedback.
