BETT 2009: A brief reflection

As you might expect its a pretty hectic week for exhibitors starting with the mayhem of getting parked on the Tuesday with all our stand “furniture”, dealing with the complete building site that is Olympia pre-BETT followed by spending a lot of time on our feet talking to visitors from all around the world for 4 days!  Still, its the 4th year we’ve been there, so I guess we love it really.

When you spend all week at BETT there is a certain flow about it.  At the beginning you wonder if anyone will come, mornings are spent setting up the stand and preparing for the day, then there are the periods when  the stand seems to be swamped and finally a certain air of calm descends towards the end of the day when most visitors have gone home.  This is when we usually have a look around.

Just around the corner from us we bumped into some old friends at Infomapper (www.infomapper.com).  We’ve seen the product before, its a great tool for teachers and students to use Ordnance Survey maps together with curriculum resources.  Its also an online service and they showed us some new features, such as linking resources from Wikipedia to maps.

We spent a lot of time talking with each other and there could be some more exciting news about Infomapper and Magic Studio in the near future.  Watch this space….
